1×1 Galvanized Square Tubing
1×1 Galvanized Square Tubing
1×1 galvanized square tubing refers to square steel tubing with a cross-sectional dimension of 1 inch by 1 inch that has been galvanized. Common wall thicknesses include 16 gauge (Ga) and 14 gauge (Ga). It is typically made from high-quality carbon steel, such as structural steel conforming to standards like ASTM A500. This type of tubing is popular among DIY enthusiasts for creating various custom structures because of its ease of cutting, welding, and connecting.

Advantages
- Superior Corrosion Resistance
- High Strength & Durability
- Low Maintenance
- Cost-Effective
- Easy to Fabricate
Applications
Structural: Frameworks for buildings, sheds, carports, and support beams.
Fencing: Durable posts and frames for fences, gates, and railings.
Industrial: Machine bases, agricultural equipment, and warehouse racking.
DIY: Custom furniture, outdoor structures, workbenches, and decorative items.
Manufacturing Process
- Tube Formation: A flat steel strip is uncoiled, shaped into a 1×1 inch square profile, and its edges are high-frequency welded. The finished tube is then sized, straightened, and cut to length.
- Hot-Dip Galvanizing: The 1×1 inch square tube is chemically cleaned, then submerged in molten zinc (around 440-460°C) to form a protective zinc-iron alloy coating. After galvanizing, it is cooled and inspected.
