ASTM A333 Pipe

ASTM A333 Pipe

ASTM A333 pipe is a carbon and alloy steel pipe available in seamless and welded forms, designed for low-temperature service and applications that require high notch toughness. This standard includes a total of 9 grades: Grade 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and Grade 11. Among these, ASTM A333 Grade 6 pipe is the most widely used due to its excellent impact resistance down to -45°C and suitability for cold climate environments. This low-temperature steel pipe is commonly utilized in oil and gas pipelines, refineries, power plants, cryogenic processing facilities, and natural gas transmission systems.

More Details

ADVANTAGES

-45℃ still maintains toughness and resists cracking at low temperatures

DISADVANTAGES

Cost is higher than A53, and requires a strict low-temperature test

INDUSTRIES

Energy industry/Chemical industry/Specialty engineering

APPLICATIONS

LNG pipes/refrigeration equipment/polar engineering

MACHINING

Preheating is required to prevent cracking, and low-speed cutting is recommended

WELDING

Low-hydrogen electrodes must be used, RT test after welding.
