Carbon steel Seamless pipe
Carbon steel Seamless pipe
Carbon steel seamless pipes are produced by piercing solid billets and then rolling or drawing them into hollow tubes without welds, providing excellent mechanical strength, uniform structure, and leak resistance. Meanwhile, Cold Drawn Seamless Tubing offers tighter dimensional control, smoother surfaces, and higher strength, making it ideal for precision applications such as hydraulic systems and mechanical tubing.
Seamless carbon steel tubes usually contain 0.06% to 1.5% carbon, depending on their grade and use. Seamless mild steel pipes are popular for their weldability, ductility, and low cost, and are widely used in water and gas lines, HVAC, and general pressure systems.
ZhaojianSteel supplies carbon steel seamless pipes in various grades and sizes, providing reliable solutions for oil & gas, chemical, boiler, and hydraulic applications. Common grades include ASTM A106 B/C, A53 (types E, F, S), A333 Grade 6, A519, and others. The size range covers outer diameters from 15.88 mm to 1016 mm, with wall thicknesses varying from 1.2 mm to 40 mm.

Seamless Carbon Steel Pipes Manufacturing Process
- Billet Heating: Steel billets are heated to 1250–1300°C in a rotary hearth furnace.
- Scale Removal: The surface scale is removed using high-pressure water.
- Piercing Process: The billet is pierced into a hollow shell using a vertical piercing press.
- Cross Rolling: The hollow shell is reduced in wall thickness and adjusted for outer diameter in the cross-rolling mill.
- Pilgering Process: The hollow shell is stretched and elongated in the Pilger mill, reducing cross-sectional area.
- Reheating: The pipe is reheated to 900–940°C in a natural gas-fired walking beam furnace.
- Stretch-Reducing Mill: The pipe’s final outer diameter is formed in the stretch-reducing mill.
- Straightening: The pipe is straightened using a roll straightening machine.
