Galvanized Steel bar
Galvanized Steel bar
Galvanized steel bar refers to a steel bar that has been coated with zinc, typically through a process called hot-dip galvanizing, where the steel is submerged in molten zinc to form a protective zinc layer. This coating significantly enhances the steel’s corrosion resistance.
ZhaojianSteel offers high-quality galvanized flat bars, round bars, angle bars, and square bars to meet a wide range of structural and manufacturing needs. Our galvanized steel products feature excellent corrosion resistance, making them ideal for outdoor, high-humidity, and high-strength environments. They are designed to extend service life and reduce maintenance costs effectively.

Galvanized Steel Bar Manufacturing Process
- Bar Forming: The raw materials, such as steel billets or hot-rolled strips, are processed through hot-rolling or cold drawing to form the required bar shapes, including flat bars, square bars, or round bars. This stage determines the bar’s dimensions, strength, and surface condition.
- Surface Preparation: Before galvanizing, the bars go through cleaning steps like degreasing, pickling, and rinsing to remove surface oils, oxide scale, and other impurities.
- Hot-Dip Galvanizing: The cleaned bars are fully immersed in molten zinc at approximately 450°C. A metallurgical reaction occurs between the zinc and steel surface, forming a dense zinc-iron alloy layer and a pure zinc layer that covers the entire surface to prevent corrosion.
- Cooling & Finishing: After galvanizing, the bars are rapidly cooled. Then, according to customer requirements, they undergo finishing processes such as:
- Inspection & Packaging: The final products undergo visual inspection and zinc coating thickness measurement. They are then packed according to specifications, ready for shipment.
FAQ
The zinc coating thickness typically ranges from 40 to 120 g/m², which varies based on customer requirements and applicable standards.
Yes, galvanized steel bars can be customized in terms of size, shape, zinc coating weight, and surface finish to meet specific project requirements.
Depending on environmental conditions and coating thickness, galvanized steel bars can last 20 years or more, with some lasting up to 50 years in optimal conditions.
