Galvanized Steel pipe
Galvanized Steel pipe
Galvanized steel pipe is a hollow, cylindrical steel tube coated with a layer of zinc to prevent corrosion and rust. It is mainly used for fluid transport, structural support, and mechanical applications. The zinc coating is typically applied through hot-dip galvanizing, providing long-lasting protection against harsh environments. This makes it very suitable for pipelines, gas lines, irrigation systems, fencing, and outdoor construction.
Zhaojian Steel is a leading galvanized steel pipe manufacturer. Our products include galvanized seamless pipes, ERW galvanized pipes, galvanized steel rectangular tubes, round galvanized tubing, and corrugated galvanized pipes. Our pipes are designed for fluid transfer, structural support, and outdoor applications. Whether standard or custom, Zhaojian Steel delivers reliable, durable products for your projects.

Galvanized Steel Pipe Manufacturing Process
- Pipe Formation: Includes seamless steel pipes made by extrusion and piercing, and welded steel pipes formed by rolling and electric resistance welding of steel strips into pipe shapes.
- Surface Preparation: Pipes undergo thorough cleaning, including degreasing, acid pickling, and rinsing to remove scale, rust, and impurities, ensuring good zinc adhesion.
- Galvanizing: The cleaned pipes pass through a molten zinc bath at about 450°C, where zinc metallurgically bonds to the pipe surface, coating both the inside and outside evenly for corrosion protection.
- Cooling and Inspection: After galvanizing, pipes are cooled and inspected for coating thickness, uniformity, and surface defects. Some pipes may receive additional treatments like passivation or oiling to enhance durability.
- Cutting and Finishing: Pipes are cut to standard or customer-specified lengths. Pipe ends can be beveled, threaded, or grooved based on application requirements.
- Packaging: Finally, galvanized pipes are bundled and securely packed with protective materials for transportation and export.
FAQ
Yes, but proper coating thickness and soil condition must be considered to prevent long-term corrosion.
Seamless pipes are stronger and suitable for high-pressure applications, while ERW pipes are more cost-effective and commonly used for general structural or fluid transport purposes.
While galvanized steel pipes excel in corrosion resistance and durability, consider these points:
1. Initial costs per meter or foot are higher than regular carbon steel pipes, but they save on future maintenance and labor.
2. Not suitable for specialized chemical transport, we recommend using specific materials like stainless steel or plastic.
